Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The objective of this article is to analyze the presence of the literary motive of the disease as an important motor of narrative development in the Exemplary Novels, a Cervantine collection published in Madrid in 1613 by Juan de la Cuesta. In particular, the following short novels will be studied: The deceitful marriage, The Licentiate Vidriera, The English Spanish, The jealous extremeño.
