Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay investigates the relationship between the dissolution of the ego and moral responsibility in the dramatic work of Hugo von Hofmannsthal (1874-1929) with particular attention to the youthful dramas of the Impressionist period and the comedies of maturity, in which emerges an I also " relative ", but in a new sense with respect to youthful, etymological work: an ego that is constituted in the relationship, attentive to the other and away from the titanism of contemporary German culture.
