The volume provides an analysis of the comprehensive legislation on restorative justice in criminal matters introduced by the so-called Cartabia criminal justice reform. Restorative justice is analysed by some of Italy's leading experts in the field, both by providing the keys to the 'internal' understanding of the new paradigm (particularly useful for the training of mediators) and by clarifying the interaction and coordination with the 'classic' criminal justice system (crucial for judges and lawyers). This volume is the fourth of the extensive work directed by Gian Luigi Gatta and Mitja Galuz devoted to the Cartabia Reform (Legislative Decree 10 October 2022, no. 150 and no. 151). The four volumes organically illustrate and comment on the numerous changes in the criminal justice system brought about by this reform, taking into account the most recent legislative amendments and the first case law. Particular attention has been paid to the application dimension, with the aim of providing legal practitioners with a useful tool.
