Abstract
The book, on the basis of new archival documentation, outlines the pastoral action of Giovanni Battista Montini during his Milanese episcopate in the final years of the pontificate of Pius XII. This is a significant period in which the Milanese Church measured itself more directly with the great socio-economic transformations and with the religious life crisis caused by new mentalities and customs.
