La dimensione comunitaria del servizio pubblico ovvero il servizio di interesse economico generale e il servizio universale

[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper analyzes the relationship between public services, services of general economic interest and universal service within the framework of European and national legislation. Starting from the discipline contained in the Treaty, it seeks to explain the movement of the Union's policies from the initial indifference towards the disciplines of the Member States regarding economic activities that pursue general interests, to the more incisive definition of what constitutes the general interest and the instruments through which it is prosecutable without compressing or hindering competition.
