Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] This volume was born out of a need: to take stock of the situation of the state of musicological studies on the didactics of the partition (whose discursive practice is now established and consolidated) and more generally of the composition in Italy and France between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and propose again some investigations conceived from the 80s of the last century to date with the aim of verifying how much these studies are still current and how much they need updating, remodulation and new classification, taking into account the fact that these investigations have taken the start in the predigital era. The title of the volume, The Didactics of the Partition, follows that of an essay published in 1993 that proposed to the attention of the community of scholars a concept, a model, a type of teaching, a style of learning invaled in Neapolitan conservatories starting from 17th century. From Naples the investigations have gradually, profitably and seamlessly extended to other 'squares' in Italy and Europe. The stages of progressive dissemination of attention and interest can be described in summary following a constant thread. The volume proposes nine essays (published in their original capacity between 1993 and 2013) revised, corrected and updated in the light of new documentary acquisitions, in-depth investigations and the most significant recent bibliography.
