Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Re-reading Basaglia one hundred years after his birth is re-discovering the inseparable link between care and democracy. In fact, law 180, introducing for the first time the principle of voluntariness of health treatments, recognized the availability of one's own body to the person. The patient is no longer a body-object that can be interned or subjected to paternalism of the caregiver, but as a body-subject with its own dignity and contractual nature.
