La crisi della preghiera nell'antichità greco-romana

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay, after having framed the theme of prayer, as a form of communication between the human and the divine level, or more widely superhuman, within the coordinates of the Greek and Roman world under the historical-religious profile, and having illustrated its fundamental character 'performative', shows how the judgment, or krisis, formulated regarding prayer by philosophical schools of different orientations could lead to forms of 'crisis' of traditional prayer - and specifically to prayer of demand - which expressed themselves in a diversified manner: from the suspension of judgment regarding its effectiveness to the decisive affirmation of its uselessness if not its impossibility; from the delineation of a 'spiritualized' ideal of prayer and prayer, to the re-location of traditional prayer within hierarchical perspectives that transcend it in elitist directions. The presentation tends to highlight - in a typically historical-religious perspective - the structural link between forms and ways of prayer, and before that between the possibility or impossibility of prayer, and models of the divine, as elaborated in the history of Greek religious thought- ancient roman.
