Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] For several years now we have been witnessing the emergence and consolidation of experiences and projects that
intend to promote new models of collaboration between schools and families
and the territory in which the schools are located. As can be read in the Report
Labsus 2022, these experiences have different denominations and characteristics (Patti
community education, collaboration agreements, open and participatory schools, boundless school),
while sharing the same goal: to strengthen democratic and participatory approaches
to the governance of education on the basis of the principles of subsidiarity, solidarity and
educational responsibility. This in order to address the challenges affecting today's school -
such as the worsening of inequalities, early school leaving or educational poverty - through
paths of active involvement of citizens and their communities. These devices
establish innovative ways of collaboration between the various educational agencies
and offer the opportunity to rethink spaces, time, teaching, to direct efforts to
promote democratic education.
