Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution focuses on women's education in the Napoleonic era and in particular on the training of middle-upper class girls, through the analysis of the project to open a house of education for girls in Novara between 1811 and 1812. Through the study of an original archival documentation, the research focuses on the regulation for the new college, which, however, despite the commitment of the local authorities and the government's pushes, will never be implemented due to the economic difficulties of the municipality.
