Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Slavery covers almost four centuries of history in Cuba, during which it went from being a colony in a demographic and economic crisis, to one of the largest producers of coffee and sugar. This transformation led to the establishment of an economic model based on plantation slavery that, from the middle of the 18th century, would modify its role in the world economy. From a linguistic perspective, the demand for an adequate administration system led to the coining of a lexical wealth of which we know little, due to the scarcity of documentary resources. This contribution uses the four editions of Esteban Pichardo's Provincial Dictionary as a source to analyze this lexicon and aims to achieve the following objectives: extract the lexicon of the Cuban agro-industrial administration from the macrostructure, analyze the productive lexicogenetic mechanisms and observe the lexicographic penetration .
