Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] If the fallacy of human judgment produces harmful effects when to make mistakes are those who by office have the task of issuing sentences, to the legal uncertainty produced by the partiality of the magistrates can seem preferable a «pure, impartial, absolute Alea, and for this fair-minded". The dystopian scenario described is based on this bitter consideration in Justice Machines. Tale of judicial science fiction, whim literary debtor of Rabelais, Voltarie and Diderot. In his parody comte philosophique published in 1954, Jacques Charpentier describes a grotesque society based on a form of justice by lottery, in which judges are replaced by automatic and indifferent machines, who in the name of reason submit the outcome of the proceedings to the case.
