Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Grassi comes to resume the philosophy of humanism starting from a set of reasons. In the first instance, as we have seen, the complex cultural situation of the early twentieth century which saw realists and idealists, positivists and neo-scholastics as protagonists of the debate, together with various religious and political demands. Secondly, the recovery of German idealism, which had referred above all to Greek antiquity, also resulted in Italy in the study of the humanistic tradition and its rooting in another cultural instance, namely the Latin civilization. From here comes a notion of humanism also exercised as an identity model from not only a philosophical-literary point of view, but above all a political one, in reference to the historical period of activities linked to the Studia Humanitatis Institute.
