Abstract
The aim of this paper is to reflect on the “return” of institutions during the pandemic crisis, starting from the biopolitical description of this an extraordinary event, which has put life back at the center of political debate. Of the many implications related to this “return”, only the mediation role of the institutions is taken into attention, the reaffirmation of which goes against the trend of immediacy, which characterizes democratic process in recent years. Moreover, three thematic ideas are indicated – inclusiveness, obedience, and ethical dimension – to identify three possible topics towards which this new phase of the institutions could be addressed.
