Abstract

With the aim of urban, functional, and perceived quality of life improvement in a specific area in Tuscany, qualitative research was carried out to explore the place attachment and the perception of places of inhabitants. In-depth interviews of different categories of citizens were conducted. The results showed that the areas of improvement regarded pro-environmental actions, requalification of the existing buildings, improvement of security and tourism. The improvement of these areas can foster place attachment and perceived better quality of life.
