Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Liberalism and solidarity are the concepts from which the economist started, in memory of how Luigi Einaudi was one of the brightest exponents of solidarity liberalism. From the political point of view it is perhaps the Old Continent that embodies the example closest to this model. "In Europe there is a fair and supportive society that protects the weaker classes but not in all countries." A Europe that has made many strides forward, but that still needs to do so in terms of investments in economic and social capital. We also need to invest from an institutional point of view and Europe has not yet chosen between the Community and intergovernmental methods. More precise choices are needed in the wake of Juncker's White Paper.
