[Autom. eng. transl.] The theme of freedom, present in numerous writings, is explicitly addressed by Simmel in some texts, starting from the early years. To this theme, the author also dedicates a fragment written and delivered to the publisher shortly before his death. It is a dense fragment, a kind of draft of a treatise that he would have liked to write in an organized way. However, it is precisely from this fragment that it is possible to grasp some questions relating to freedom that accompany re-reading previous texts and to grasp, in them, a red thread revealing the centrality of this question.
