Abstract
Starting from a discussion of the simple Robinson economy, it gives an introduction to the basic tools of analysis for an economic system and the different approaches one can take. After discussing the main problems to be faced in going from the one agent to the multi agent case, it presents the theory of the consumer and that of the firm. The main results derived in these chapter are then use to give an outline of general equilibrium and welfare economics.
