Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] After a documented presentation of the life of Hildegard of Bingen and her role in the Benedictine order, the perspective with which the nun looks at creation is presented, inserted in the broader context of medieval Latin cosmologies, which start from the cosmogonic narration of Genesis, on which new elements are grafted. The central position in creation is that of man, plenum opus Dei, in which the harmony of creation is manifested. Hildegard faces with a feminine gaze not only the study of nature and man, but also the concrete situations of her time. Exemplary in this regard is the reading of the Gospel parables.
