Introduzione

[Autom. eng. transl.] The extensive introduction, in addition to presenting the research carried out on the "Insula Viscontea" of Milan (Palazzo di Azzone, now Royal, Archbishopric and Palazzo di Bernabò with San Giovanni in Conca), raises the question of the status of Lombard art in the history of historical-artistic studies and, more generally, in the hierarchies of Italian culture. The historiographical path, outlined from the 14th to the 20th century with particular reference to Visconti art, opens up numerous problems and prospects for new research.
