[Autom. eng. transl.] It is a reinterpretation, for several original profiles, of the principle of subsidiarity constantly re-proposed by the social doctrine of the Church in its development. From its main function - almost apologetic, performed in the past - of protecting the citizen from the claims of the state, he suggests moving to a personalistic vision for the promotion of the social dimension of man. It is not difficult to understand the urgency of dealing with this topic, in times in which individualism and political and social disintermediation seem to prevail, not only in our country. The living experience of community, where saying "we" expresses a free and real belonging, constitutes much more than a third pillar between the State and the market, and represents the essential engine that can revitalize processes that tend towards the common good.
