Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution introduces the volume of studies in honor of Annamaria Cascetta analyzing the fertile binomial between "theater and woman" that constitutes the plot. Specifically, the contribution shows the centrality of the feminine cultural revolution in the twentieth century and the key role played by the theater in the long process of women's emancipation, underlining its scarce or partial reflection in this regard. The volume, which is characterized by the numerous questions brought into focus as well as by the various disciplinary views and proposed methodological approaches, therefore offers itself as a first step towards a broader rethinking and debate on the contribution of women in culture and more widely in society of yesterday and today.
