Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The development of the answers of the Milanese and Lombard society of the early modern age to the problem of poverty, marginality and social unrest must be read in terms of a solidarity-corporative self-organization, anchored to the religious models of an ancient tradition, which only partially it was absorbed and placed under the direct control of the superior political powers, gathered in the reality of the city communities and in the structure of the State that dominated them.
