Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Presentation of the issue of the International Journal of Social Sciences dedicated to Maurice Potron sj (1872-1942), mathematician and economist, attentive reader of the 'Rerum novarum' of Leo XIII. We illustrate the reasons behind today's recovery of interest for a thinker who has anticipated certain developments in classical-Keynesian political economy, using a rigorous logical and philosophical apparatus and manifesting a singular harmony with the social teaching of the Church and with the renewal of thought and social action of Catholics between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Account is also taken of the specific contribution made in this direction by each of the file's collaborators (Bidard, Erreygers, Perrone, Bellino, Cova)
