Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In this international monograph, leading scholars of Plato and Platonism present fundamental issues of Platonic hermenutics, such as metaphysics, gnoseology, language, ethics, physics and eschatology, according to various interpretative approaches and on the basis of texts such as the "Phaedo", the "Timeo", the "Symposium", the "Cratilo" and the "Parmenides". A second Section deals with the Platonic tradition, analyzing the Middle-Platonic exegesis in Plutarch, Apuleius, Numenius and Alcinous.
