Abstract

The communicational peculiarity of any educational process implies a careful consideration of the technical-expressive characteristics inherent to the media, especially in relation to the purposes of pedagogical planning. The transformations induced by the multimedia instrumentation on the conceptions of knowledge and its elaboration renders the comprehension of the phenomena that regard the human cognitive set essential and raise new questions of ethical-educational nature and hoists new issues on the multivariate operational potentialities which can be used today in order to learn and teach. I develop through this study some thoughts regarding the relation between educational reality and fiction inherent to movies, availing myself with two emblematical prospects: the inclusion of cinema within ordinary school programming schemes, which was foretold by E. Morin in the context of the reformation of the French educational system; the analysis of films as a text into which fiction enables simulacra and educational values to come to life, to be critically deciphered without omission of the esthetical peculiarities of the artwork.
