Abstract

This paper proposes an articulated reflection on families characterized by or temporarily involved in critical situations, to which we must give attention providing them with a context for the expression of their lived experience so that they can elaborate it and evolve. In particular, the caring profession implies above all the willingness to embrace the emotional experiences that are a reflection of the conscience as well as a communication resource leading to the direct understanding of each other's world. Declining care in emotional wisdom and supporting a new existential planning are therefore human and professional skills that cannot be improvised, but involve specific training. Only in this way emotional life can be a valuable resource for the professions of care: it teaches how to live with wisdom in the painful folds of life.
