Abstract
Online criminal investigations benefit from AI applications, especially in terms of efficiency; though, various risks are related to the use of AI in law enforcement activity. This paper underlines some key issues about the use of AI in criminal investigations, addressing notably the fundamental rights of defence and data protection.
