Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Taking into consideration, in a historical key, the contributions and reflections of great educators of the world of special pedagogy, the text aims to recover the roots, the reasons and the foundations of educational actions with people with disabilities. Many ideas continue to live silently in the training actions, in the didactic proposals and in the educational paths that characterize the scholastic world of today: to make them effective, however, it is necessary to continually project these foundations in the future.
