Integral ecology, social pedagogy. In favour of a transdisciplinary dialogue

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The social pedagogy examines the scientific and cultural debates about society to identify its educational tasks in a historical-cultural framework. This approach aims to elaborate congruent projects for people, communities and institutions. This discipline studies the topic of sustainable development and the concept of humanity within it. It also investigates how to interpret its economic, social and environmental challenges. The following paper relates to this debate, reflecting on the multiple environmental changes that took place since the publication of the encyclical Laudato si’ and the Agenda for Sustainable Development. Pandemic emergency, ‘rapidification’, delays in the realisation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change and increase in inequalities are some of the environmental conditions that renew the pedagogical commitment. Integral ecology, social pedagogy. In favour of a transdisciplinary dialogue.
