Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] According to WHO data, up to 800,000 people commit suicide each year. Among the various professional categories, that of the police officers seems to be particularly at risk for exposure to potentially traumatic events, for the often exhausting shifts and for the organizational culture that stigmatizes psychic suffering by preventing the most suffering subjects from putting into question the own vulnerability. In this systematic literature review, the findings of 24 articles on police suicide published between 2003 and 2018 were analyzed.
