Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution reconstructs the path of assistance and education of the deaf in Italy between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Particular attention is paid to the oral method and its success - in the midst of various difficulties - within institutions for the deaf thanks to the contribution of great educators, including Don Giulio Tarra.
