Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The manufacturing sector, despite the contraction recorded in recent years, continues to be essential for the economic development of a country. Some critical aspects, such as the propensity to export, productivity, company size and technological innovation profoundly affect its evolution. In particular, in Italy the high number of SMEs is likely to have a negative impact on this sector and on its predisposition to invest in research and innovation, especially in the radical one, which involves a real change in the technological paradigm. From this point of view, the Industrial Compact and Horizon 2020 represent positive strategies that, if well implemented and accompanied by adequate funding, could bring great benefits to our companies.
