Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The machine tools industry has a leading role in the Italian manufacturing system. This industrial branch has an innovation intensity higher than that of many other industrial branches. The paper investigates how to innovate and R&D We built a significant sample through a questionnaire based on the CIS (Community Innovation Survey). As a regional geographic dimension is used to test the presence of specific local effects. The results show at positive and strong contribution by human capital to productivity.
