Abstract
The paper aims to highlight that the response to injustice cannot be
built through ways of retaliation to evil, based on the assumption of an identification
of the other as a negative reality to neutralize, defeat or eliminate: paradigms
that have been the basis, for millennia, of punishment and war concepts.
Hence, the propositive part of the article seeks to redefine the response to negative
realities as loyalty to good in front of evil and as commitment spent, without
intentions of overwhelming, to make fair, towards all involved subjects, relationships
that have not been so: since evil is not capable to be revoked and, with respect
to it, only «rebuilding» is possible.
To conclude, the need to overcome conflictual dynamics, regrettably still considered
unavoidable in relations between States and between other human aggregations,
is pointed out: in order to create awareness of the urgency of making grow
among peoples – according to the interreligious path promoted, on the theme, by
Pope Francis – the aspiration towards a «universal brotherhood».
