Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the context of research on the question of theology as a science, inaugurated by M.-D. Chenu and continued by I. Biffi, we intend to continue the investigation of the latter, in terms of the method and - in a certain way - of the contents. From the point of view of the method, that is, by carefully examining "the various components that contribute to the creation and determination of the figure within the" passage "under consideration", with the specific intention of "constructing the figure in a certain way abstract of theology that in that theologian - or in a "school" - almost the "geometry" of this theology, its "form" in the understanding of faith is received ". As for the contents, the intent is to resume the plot of this "story" by introducing new protagonists, that is, aiming at the reconstruction of the images or "figures" of the theology of some authors of the fourteenth century. In particular, the choice that fell on Gerardo da Bologna, as the first "sampling", does not fail to be justified and significant in itself: on the one hand, due to the considerable attention that the Carmelite gives to the methodological analysis in his Summa - in our I believe that this is already sufficient in itself to justify at least its interest from this point of view -; on the other hand, because his eclectic nature gives his historian the privilege of moving with ease in confronting the perspectives of previous or contemporary authors, not without the effort of identifying the quidams, and attributing a subject to the various dicunts. We will therefore identify the historical connections between the authors evoked, already in this first contribution, albeit in the relative interest of these connections "in the face of the" absolute "that these abstract figures are called to represent"
