Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] We report the most significant results of a postal survey carried out among the priests of the Lombard pastoral region between 2010 and 2011. The survey touched on some of the themes most strongly linked to the problem of aging (housing, relationality / interaction with the other, objective and perceived health status, functional autonomy, economic conditions, needs for material and spiritual assistance). With some questions the current situation has been retracted, while with others (mainly aimed at younger priests) prospects and desires related to the future condition of seniority have been detected on the one hand and, on the other, any situations of difficulty generated by sharing the own path with priests in old age. The questionnaire was filled out by 2,430 priests, equal to 47% of the collective to which it was sent. The group of respondents was adequately heterogeneous by age group (45% under the age of 60; 33% aged between 61 and 74; 22% aged 75 or older) and incardination diocese (none of the ten was absent).
