[Autom. eng. transl.] The enterprise that Nicolai Hartmann (1882-1950) sets himself up by building his 'new ontology' and subjecting teleological-metaphysical thought to criticism is intense. This volume traces the hartmannian ontological formulation from its foundations up to the posthumous work "Teleologisches Denken", proposed here as the theoretical apex and the philosopher's key to understanding, emphasizing historical heritages and biographical components, and establishing cross-sectional comparisons that highlight links and incommunicability. In appendix is proposed the spiritual testament of Hartmann, "Das Ethos der Persönlichkeit", in the first Italian translation with German original in front.
