Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The theme of Mercy has had, by force of circumstances, particular attention also within the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart; Among the many initiatives for the jubilee year, particular importance was given to "La Misericordia and its works", a series of workshops organized in Milan to highlight the ways in which the University contributes to materialize Mercy. In particular, among the corporal works of mercy, the first is: to feed the hungry, which however cannot be solely the giving of food to those who have none, but even more and better to create favorable conditions for all to produce or earning a living. Also for this reason, the Church proposes a widespread economic growth in every country of the earth, so that every man and woman can live with dignity in their land and are not forced to emigrate. The Catholic University, which is part of the Church, although not having the mission, to intervene materially in bringing food, has to some extent that of helping to make poor people less dependent, favoring their autonomous emancipation from the cycle of poverty (development integral and in solidarity). With this objective, the Political and Livestock Institutes and the E4Impact Foundation, all of the UCSC, organized on October 6, 2016 the workshop "Mercy and Development of the South of the World".
