Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This contribution arises from a suggestion induced by the observation of how numerous and recurrent in the research-action texts (RA d ora in poi) visual metaphors, references to gaze, to seeing. We then wanted to develop a reflection on the meaning of these numerous visual references, which seem to be a peculiarity of the works that document the activities of RA and seem instead much less present in the reports on interventions, also oriented to change the behavior of the people, but inspired from other theoretical positions and realized through other approaches. To give an example, among the many possible, we can mention the behavior change programs that characterize the field of health promotion. They too, as is the case with the RA, have a transformative intent but, unlike the RA, they seem to be leveraging, to reach their goals, more on the prescription of actions, on the persuasion to adopt certain behaviors, on the use of supporting technologies , that on the invitation to change the way we see things.
