Abstract

The volume brings together a series of original interdisciplinary contributions focused on the problem of borrowings that political language assumed from the religious one in the formation of European states from the Gregorian age to the Baroque era. These are the proceedings of the first international atelier of the project "Les vecteurs de l'idéel, Le pouvoir symbolique entre Moyen Âge et Renaissance (v.1200-v.1640)", which later received funding from the European Research Council.
