Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Manzoni's literary production is grounded in the theoretical (and aesthetic) reflections that the author supports from the sketches of the Ten years collected in the "Aesthetic Materials" up to the more complex dissertations of the "Of the invention" dialogue. In short, reflections on the end, the means, the meaning, the essence of making art and being an artist, which, from the beginning, Manzoni elaborates in dialogue with famous models: the contribution focuses in particular on the debts that The author contracts with Schlegel and Humboldt, mediated by Fauriel, whose lesson, enriched but not betrayed over time, testifies to Manzoni's familiarity with German culture already during the years of his Parisian stay.
