Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Terminology is one of the most important manifestations of scientific awareness and one of the main drivers of the evolution of science. The creation of terms is essential for the transmission of innovations. The Arabic tradition has historically valued terminology, as evidenced by figures such as al-Jahiz and al-Jurjani. Translation and standardization of terminology were fundamental to scientific progress during the Abbasid era. Today, terminology is crucial for integration into the global context of knowledge, overcoming linguistic barriers and facilitating scientific and technical communication. Terminology is not only a linguistic issue, but also a conceptual one, requiring interdisciplinary collaboration to address current challenges.
