Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The Expositiones evangeliorum are a collection of fifty-eight homilies that Hildegard composed for her sisters in Rupertsberg and which expound twenty-seven evangelical pericopes, a selection of texts used for the Sunday and festive liturgy. They are probably the texts related to the reflections made by Hildegard in the chapter house, in accordance with the Benedictine liturgical practice and therefore intended for a monastic audience. The volume consists of a broad introduction, accompanied by an updated bibliography, and an annotated translation of the evangelical parables present in the Expositiones.
