Among the most authoritative critical voices on the state of the planet, Pope Francis with the Encyclical Letter Laudato si' (2015) placed emphasis on the challenge, which embraces peoples and cultures, of protecting the common home, uniting the entire human family in the search of a new humanism and an integral ecology. Various factors provoke pressing questions about the relationship between individuals and society, systems of material and cultural production, local and planetary resources. The human root of the ecological crisis calls into question politics and economics, educational paths and scientific research. Pedagogy questions the sciences and presents itself as a critical and emancipatory reflection, between values ​​and simulacra, encouraging new lifestyles. The essay starts from an emblematic experience, the Earth Village, inspired by a formative interpretation of the Sustainable Development Goals with particular reference to the appeal of the Global Educational Pact announced by the encyclical Laudato si'.
