Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Often defined by adults in terms of 'deprivation' (adolescents 'who don't') or negative (bullies, inactive, bullies, etc.), this generation of adolescents seems to lack resources and skills. But is it really so? This book tries to answer the question, presenting some data that emerged from the first survey of the Generation Z longitudinal research, promoted by the Toniolo Institute of Higher Studies in 36 schools throughout the country, which involved about 6000 students. The survey, thanks to the Positive Youth Development Approach, aims to look at the resources and abilities of adolescents rather than their limitations. Resources and skills that can emerge also thanks to the context in which they are born and grow. In particular, in this phase of the research, the following aspects were taken into consideration: the presentation of the theoretical approach; the contribution that adolescents feel they can make to family, school and their growth; the school context; the use of the media; 'traditional' risk behaviors (alcohol abuse, unprotected sexual intercourse, etc.); the study of foreign languages. The work ends with some pedagogical indications and psychological reflections on the results that have emerged.
