Abstract

Cod. D 527 inf. (second half of the XIV century) unites the two major texts of geography available to Byzantines: Ptolemy's Geographic Guide and Dionysios' Word Tour; their different nature. The problem of Ptolemy's maps. The Ambrosian ms. witnesses a partially unique set, probably subsequent to the maps reconstructed by Maximus Planudes. A critical edition and translation of Planude's poem on the subject.
