[Autom. eng. transl.] The Report on the Emilia-Romagna agri-food system is the result of a long and consolidated collaboration between the Department of Agriculture of the Region and the Regional Union of the Chambers of Commerce of Emilia-Romagna and represents an important contribution to the knowledge of a fundamental sector of the regional economy. Numerous collaborators belonging to, as well as to the two bodies mentioned, the University of Bologna and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Piacenza. The Report opens with two chapters that describe, on the one hand, the trend of the economy and world agri-food markets, and on the other, EU and national policies for the agri-food sector. The economic trends that characterized regional agriculture during 2020 occupy the central part of the Report, with four chapters dedicated to agriculture: production and profitability of the sector, vegetable production, livestock production, credit and use of production factors. In the following chapters, other relevant aspects of the regional agri-food system are addressed, such as the food industry, with the economic dynamics and some structural insights into technical means and employment, trade with foreign countries, which highlight the region's weight in exports and imports of agricultural and food products, food distribution, in which we focus on the strategies of distribution companies, food consumption, where the evolution and composition of expenditure for food is highlighted. 'food at national and regional level. The volume also contains a description of the interventions of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program and regional policies and ends with two chapters dedicated respectively to the activities of the regional chamber system in favor of the agri-food chain and to the internationalization projects of the Emilia-Romagna Region for the enhancement of products agro-food.
