Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The Report on the agri-food system of the Emilia-Romagna region has been an important contribution to the knowledge of a fundamental sector of the regional economy, a useful tool for operators and a guide for local authorities' policies for several years now. The Report opens with two chapters that we could consider preparatory, because on the one hand they describe the international scenario, which shows an increase in production and an easing of tensions on the agricultural commodity markets, on the other the community and national policies for the agro sector - food, which define the institutional scenario in which operators are called to move. The main development trajectories of the regional agri-food system occupy the central part of the Report. Four chapters are dedicated to agriculture: production and profitability of the sector, crop production, livestock production, credit and use of productive factors. These chapters examine the trends that characterized regional agriculture in 2013. The other relevant aspects of the agri-food system contained in the Report concern in the order: the food industry, with an analysis of the economic, structural and employment dynamics ; foreign trade, which highlights the weight of the region on trade flows; retail food distribution, with a snapshot of the structure of the sector, the main companies and their internationalization strategies; food consumption, which highlights the evolution and composition of national and regional food spending and recent price dynamics. The volume presents, in the following chapters, the description of the interventions and policies at regional level and of the new 2014-2020 RDP; a summary of the activities of the regional chamber system in favor of the agro-food chain follows. Finally, a monographic study dedicated to the reform of direct payments and its impact in the Region is proposed.
