[Autom. eng. transl.] The first part of the volume opens with the analysis of the changes taking place in the Lombard agro-food system and in the international scenario, characterized by the changes taking place in the demand and in the market balance. The second part is dedicated to a broad summary of the structural and economic characteristics of the system. Following are three chapters dedicated to the analysis of agricultural policies at the community, national and regional levels, with a snapshot of their current configuration and an analysis of current trends. In the section on regional policies, an in-depth analysis of agricultural insurance is presented. In the third part of the Report the main components of the agri-food system are considered: retail distribution, food industry and agriculture, including the analysis of foreign trade of the regional and national system. The fourth part is reserved for the analysis of the factors of production, and in particular of the uses of labor, of the technical means, of the agricultural credit and of the land market. The concluding part of the volume concerns the analysis of the most significant supply chains of plant and animal production in the region. For each of them, the economic trends of agricultural production, processing, consumption and product prices are described. The monographic chapter, dedicated to the analysis of household consumption, after a description of the national reference framework, continues with an in-depth study at the regional level and ends with some indications at the provincial level.
